Fine-tuning the new ADC

The action is currently in the SAAO mechanical workshop in Cape Town...

A few of the CNC machines in the workshop

More specifically, in the temperature-controlled coordinate measuring machine (CMM) room, in the back corner of the workshop.  This is where the new ADC is being tested & tweaked, to ensure that its various alignments & movements are all within spec.

The CMM software conveniently talks to the CAD model

Optics, mechanics, electronics & software all playing nicely

Some of the machining for the new moving baffle & pupil mask (that will mount on top of this assembly) is still in progress just outside the CMM lab.

Looking good so far!
