A hybrid SALT workshop was held at the SAAO in Cape Town in mid November. The two-day meeting provided a practical overview of the telescope & software tools available, as well as the opportunity to interact more directly with the Astro Ops team.
The talks covered updates on new & upcoming instrumentation, tips & tricks, software tools, data reduction processes & pipelines, the SALT data archive, how to use particular RSS modes such as polarimetry & multi-object spectroscopy, & photometry of solar system targets.
In addition to the presentations and discussion sessions, in-person attendees were given a tour of the SAAO campus & students got to visit the telescope as well.
